The bowmakers knife is essentially a longer edge single bevel kiridashi, with the bevel
angle ground and flattened to 70 degrees for use on harder woods like pernambuco. Like
most of Thorsson's edged tools, these knives are constructed with hardened steels on the
edge and side, with softer steel in the middle of the bevel for ease of sharpening. Brine quenched for optimal hardness.
