Amber Violin

The Amber violin string set has been developed with the aim of achieving the sound quality of the best gut strings without any tuning instabilities. The set features W-Core®, a completely new core material developed by Warchal's Research & Development team.

The sound is rich and warm, but still has texture. The strings also feature a distinctive high quality silking design.

Avantgarde Violin A

Some instruments don’t work well with synthetic or gut core A strings. They may sound gritty and there can be a problem with response especially in the higher positions.

This is why many violinists, particularly Russian ones, prefer metal A strings. Warchal designed the Russian Style A for these players a few years ago. Warchal has now introduced a string that merges the Russian style formula with a unique helical design. The helix significantly improves the longitudinal elasticity of the metal solid wire core. As a result, the Avantgarde A has more warmth and depth of tone. It keeps its high quality sound even under full attack and has a remarkably fast response.

The wavy design continues along the whole length of the string, so for some players the feeling under the finger may require a few minutes to get used to.

Brilliant Violin, Viola, & Cello

Violin:
The Brilliant advanced synthetic core set is intended for players who seek the most projecting sound. It also offers quick tuning stability. Synthetic core strings need about three to four days to settle in before achieving full tone quality. Two violin D strings are available. D - hydronalium which provides a projecting sound with plenty of attack when needed. D - silver which provides a warmer and mellower sound.

Viola:
The Brilliant set is intended for players who seek the most projecting sound. It also offers quick tuning stability. Synthetic core strings need about three to four days to settle in before achieving full tone quality. Metal core as well as Synthetic core A strings are available. The sound of the synthetic A string matches the set perfectly. However aluminium or hydronalium wound A strings are less durable than those with a metal core so we wanted to give players a choice.

Cello:
Intended for players who want a BRILLIANT, full, projecting sound with rich overtones. These strings really enhance the character of the instrument.  They are lower tension than steel strings so have the benefit of also working very well on more fragile cellos. Brilliant strings need about three to four days to settle before reaching their full tone quality.

Brilliant Vintage Violin

Especially created for antique violins. Excellent response in all dynamic ranges, including pianissimo. These strings enable older instruments to shine with a natural beauty of sound. They have a brilliant, warm and focused sound despite their lower tension. The Brilliant Vintage set is not intended for baroque instruments with lower tuning.

Karneol Violin & Viola

The KARNEOL violin and viola string sets produce well-balanced velvety tones, giving warmth and texture to your sound. They have a synthetic core, and normally require three days to achieve tuning stability and optimum tone quality.

Ametyst Violin

High Quality synthetic core strings. Ametyst strings offer a pure and focused sound which is brighter than Karneol. Although they are intended for better instruments, they will improve the sound of all levels of violins. They have a synthetic core, and normally take approximately three days to achieve tuning stability and optimum tone quality.

Nefrit Violin

Combined metal and synthetic core set - metal core E and A strings, synthetic core D and G strings. Designed for musical instruments that require more intensive bow pressure. They are ideal for electric instruments too.

Russian Style Violin A

Developing this metal core A string took longer than expected, but Warchal has now successfully created a string which gives an unmatched response with a warm tone. The aim was to create a metal A which would sound warm even under maximum bow pressure.

The Russian Style violin A string gives you a seamless and mellow switch between the alto and soprano registers, excellent response and incredible durability.

Cello Prototype A

This string was originally developed as an alternative to the current “A“ string for the Brilliant cello set. Warchal had been concerned that the synthetic “A“ string might be too fragile. However they solved the issue of the synthetic string durability and the metal core version started to take on a life of its own. It was tested by many players worldwide and the results were unexpectedly good. Warchal therefore decided to add it to their range as a separate string.
