With history reaching back to the 17th century in Italy E. & O. Mari has a rich history of string making. Starting in the 1640's the Mari family became one of the suppliers to both Amati and Stradivari in Cremona. In 1913 the Emilio and Olinto moved to New York City to seek new opportunities where they produced both gut and steel strings. Today E. & O. Mari is still a family owned business and still producing fine strings used worldwide.
